HALIFAX ENCAMPMENT

In August of 2021, over 200 people were evicted from a homeless encampment in Downtown Halifax. With the goal to help the homeless shelters cope with the pandemic and the influx of new patrons, Cheetahs For Change launched a project with the help of Phoenix House and Souls Harbor to collect donations of items they need, ranging from hygiene products to food and art supplies in September.  With their help, we had created a list of donatable items and had put three donation boxes around our school for several weeks for students and teachers to put donations in. By November 29th, we had two heavily packed boxes that we personally arranged for our members to drop off.
