94 CALLS TO ACTION

"My challenge to you is to read the #94CallsToAction of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report and pick one that you can work on, that you understand, and that you support - and make it happen. This is not a spectator sport. We need you, to be able to bring reconciliation to a reality in this country." -Murray Sinclair.

In 2015, as part of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s final report into the Indian Residential School system, the TRC announced the 94 Calls to Action. Each Call to Action relates to various aspects of Canadian life, including business, education, health, women’s rights, justice and more. The goal of the 94 Calls to Action is for every Canadian citizen to read and respond to these calls in order to advance Canada towards achieving reconciliation. Simply reading, understanding and engaging in one of these calls may seem like a small action, but if every person in Canada takes one, it will become a great leap to reconciliation in our country.

We have created a banner, located in the student exchange next to the UBUNTU banner, to represent points of the 94 calls to action that we can all work on as a school. This is an effort to help bring attention and educate on the 94 calls to action and how we can all do our part.
